Coat
of Arms are emblems or symbols that express accomplishments
and or demonstrate status in society for individuals, businesses,
products or services. In olden days they used to be granted
to knights by royalty or nobility. They served as an image or
symbol to show their status, as well as a recognition of their
loyalty in a battle. Similar to how a present day logo represents company or service. In contemporary societies everyone has the
right to express their individuality and accomplishments and
bear his/her Coat of Arms.
There are 3 ways you could obtain a coat of arms.
1. Do a full genealogical research that fully traces the lineage of your family back to its origins. This is the most costly and time consuming, but the best and surest way to determine if a na old genuine coat of arms existed in your family.
2. Go to an internet
coat of arms search site The information you will receive is based on heraldic sources. NOT to be confused with a personalized search of descent or lineage. You might end up with a coat of arms for your name but not necessarily the genuine coat of arms for YOUR family.
3.You could do the above either by yourself, or by hiring a qualified artist design or paint a coat of arms for you, that is genuine to you and your family and will be cherrished fro generations to come. Then have it officially registered by the American College of Heraldry.
