Global
Images was a community arts
project on a scale which has
never before been undertaken.
Utilizing the world wide web,
up and coming artists across
the globe came together to
showcase their work in a unified
collection. Artists in different
countries simultaneously painted
a huge canvas divided into
24 frames. The Project theme
was "THE FUTURE". The entire
process was broadcasted live
on the Internet, held at Celebrity
Center International and was
featured on the CBS channel
2 evening news. The idea was
for all these canvases is
to eventually come together
as "largest canvas of the
world" in an on-line gallery,
as well as a tour through
the host cities. Below the
Los Angeles" section" of the
canvas ( "10 x 7" ), painted
by 24 artists during on October
2, 1999 over a period of 24
hours.
