A
COMMUNITY OF ANGELS PROJECT 2002
The
Community of Angels was a public art project designed to raise
funds for charity, showcase regional artists, and celebrate
Los Angeles' cultural diversity. Nearly 200 Angels were placed
throughout the Los Angeles area in 2001, sponsored by corporate
donations ranging from $1,500 to $50,000. They were decorated
by established and emerging local artists, and later sold
at auction, with the proceeds donated to fund youth programs
sponsored by the Volunteers of America and Catholic Big Brothers.
This Angel was sponsoredby Kim and Ginger Caldwell, and is
6 feet tall, hand painted by Susi Galloway and titled
"The Golden State".
